Redmi Note 7, Crdroid setup after years of /e/

Hi !
I used /e/ on my redmi note 7 lavender since two or three years, I was quite satisfied until there was not any update for my phone. I juste rolled with it, but now I’m at a crossroad where I have to chose between buying a new phone and install something else on my Note 7. I just found that Crdroid could be installed on it.

Now, my problem is that when I read the instructions, I must begin with installing recovery and already from there, I face an issue : it states that I must not use it if I have Android 12 or earlier. Same goes for the previous releases, until the R11.xxx, where nothing is stated on that matter. Since /e/ never updated on my Note 7 for the last years, I’m stuck on Android 10. Therefore, am I stucked ? Shall I install the stock OS (MIUI, which I would dislike strongly), update to the latest android version, then try again to install Crdroid from there ?

Note that I can follow some instructions, but I’m far from being an expert with flashing things such as smartphone. I do that kind of things once in a decade, the last time was for installing /e/ and I was expecting a total mess until the moment I saw that everything went fine.

Thanks !
