Hi everyone,
So, i’m interested in installing e/OS on my Note 9S, but I realized its code is slightly different from the one given on the compatible devices list: the code given is M2003J6A1G (the global version) whereas my phone is a M2003J6A1R (which, I suppose, stands for Japan where I bought it. Or maybe Korea, as the certificate does say Korea).
In any case, does anyone know whether that difference is relevant or not ? I’ve been looking around but I couldn’t find whether it only means a software difference or if it is at a much lower level than that (and trying to install would brick my phone).
If I was facing this problem/question, I would have a look at the XDA forum. One can perform an internet search with it’s preferred search engine adding XDA in the keywords.
@Trenien, is quite be difficult to really brick a phone.
And you can easily unbrick it by reinstall original ROM (or with specific tool).
After a quick search I didn’t find hardware differences. I think it’s only about LTE frequencies configuration.
As @aibd mentioned both version are compatible with LineageOS build and e/OS is base on the same devices tree sources.
I also find original firmware here and here.
