I have created this thread 22minutes ago. Someone have replied 3minutes ago. Now I want to reply again that I have fixed the problem but I cannot, because I am replying too quickly and should wait 7minutes?! WTH why? Please fix this weirdness.
And in the meantime I can’t even create this other post! This antispam system is really weird
We have implemented a time limit on posting for new users to prevent spammers from flooding the forum. This restriction allows the community to flag spam posts, aiding in moderation efforts.
I can absolutely see you have implemented some limit, but I am pointing out how broken it seems to me! So you want new users to post only every 30minutes? That’s how it’s supposed to work?
Yes, that’s how it’s supposed to work in this Discourse forum, until you reach Trust Level 1 and are not a new user (Trust Level 0) anymore … Understanding Discourse Trust Levels
Well I don’t see any mention of time limit between posts there in those rules. And where do I see what is my trust level? I have been registered since 2021 and have created 26 posts, so this is still not good enough to get above 0? Really?
I actually don’t even see “basic user” anywhere. But I see I got a “Basic” badge, just yesterday. But seems like this process is not automated, because based on my statistics I have achieved the requirements long time ago already I think Anyway, I am just thinking how this works here, because it is rather unusual.
The discourse page gives the “standard” view of things but every install has its own settings and the infra team which I assume is responsible for this installation will have a lot of ability for fine tuning, in this case especially to guard against spammers. Different methods have been used in the past but at least this method the warning seems understandable in intent by new users.
For others finding this thread later, new or impacted users can usually continue to make edits to their earlier posts if they really want to add something.
