i agree, one default profile for the average user is preferable. And then on a separate page of the website “High-security”, “Barebones” or “No-G” downloads being available. Perhaps as an option in the settings menu as well, to change the phone to a more secure version.
That’s a great idea,a “high-security” option in the settings.
a post just to say that if the “James Bond profile” is happening, that it might be interesting to reach out to CalyxOS. Would increase their number of supported devices massively, so a big pro for them, and for /e/ it would mean a nice collaboration with a respected research institute

jumping on the existing thread since I installed /e/ on my cubot yesterday and I’d very much love to get rid of that bliss launcher too as I read above in that thread, still no easy way to uninstall after 1+ year ?
Even if you can’t desinstall it yet, you can download and use another launcher.
I jumped on the /e/ bandwagon this week… Although I have al lot of experience in IT, on the road to flashing my first rom I encountered lots of terms I did not understand. But it is coming.
My primary need is having a better understanding of what usage of my /e/ phone apparently brings certain privacy risks. Government surveillance is to me a whole other matter than staying of the radar with Google. Instead of choosing a certain profile, without really knowing the value and limitations, I would prefer being in control in an informed way, and making my own choices where necessary.
When lots of users start making the same choices, than it might be time for a profile.
