You have to send them the details using the contact form. If you have already done that they would get back to you in 5 working days. Do not worry about the time cutting into your return period. The date is counted from the time you sent the mail.

When you turned the phone on, did you follow the onscreen instructions? They are fairly intuitive, can you tell us where you ran into issues?
When you received the phone did you plug in the USB C to a charger and the phone. Is the battery charged?
Or is this the first phone you have owned? Why are you trying to return a phone you just purchased?
