S9 and s9+ android 15

Good morning,

Is there a possibility to upgrade the s9 and s9+ series to Android 15?

Of course yes :

Good morning ,

Does this mean I have to download and install the ROM to test it? And report any problems I find?

From the /e/OS page Different Build Types this is the definition of Unofficial builds.

  • Builds are made by /e/OS or external users
  • Builds are not supported by /e/OS
  • Made using /e/OS sources code with no modifications in any form
  • At times may not have a maintainer as in made by a user who does not own the device
  • Do not receive OTA updates
  • Available for download on /e/OS websites and are tagged as “UNOFFICIAL”
  • Release Frequency: Monthly or biMonthly
  • Build Naming format: e-0.7-n-2020021341116-UNOFFICIAL-mata.zip
  • Install these builds at your own risk

I suggest before install to read the description of the Lineage (unofficial) build the sources of which are used. Same thread as above

Alternatively if waiting for the official OTA upgrade path note also the comment

I’ve already tried lineage roms. The major problem for me is the ‘play Integrity’ control. He throws me away every time. I want to try again but I will still not be able to use my banking applications, among other things!! That’s one of the reasons why I came to /e/!

So you realise that /e/OS is simply a fork of LineageOS with the addition of microG and a selection of privacy friendly apps.

/e/OS may not work with banking apps which depend on “trusting Google”.

I understood that /e/ worked with micro g. So I had installed lineage without the gaps and with micro g. But this was not enough to pass the play integrity test for the ‘credit mutuel’ bank card. But it works under /e/os. I think it’s because in /e/ micro g is directly patched into the kernel. And I can’t do that in lineage

The ROM is installed. I also installed magisk and micro g.
