Unfortunately I found issues with the installer where it fails to upload the recovery. On inspection zadig has issues with Samsung Galaxy S8 The manual “traditional” method installing the recovery via ODIN worked. It took ages to figure this out. There was no issues with the cable or port. I used the front usb port on my meshify case.
The “main” documentation for S8 is very messy and hard to follow, but this howto was more concise and a more speedy process to install. The wiping part took a while to wipe the data partition, but the install process took minutes.
