Scan to PDF App

Hello,
I am looking for an app that will scan to pdf. A search on the internet generally says Adobe Scan is the best but it has a 0/10 privacy rating.
Any recommendations for a good privacy positive app?
Cheers

F-Droid web search isn’t crazy good, but via “pdf” and going through the list, you can try:

Update: both are pretty good, I’m impressed

  • fairscan will do no OCR and aggressively contrast and compress → good for b/w documents, but with no options to raise resolution atm. Small files are the upside. Edge detection was quick and automatic
  • makeacopy has OCR embedded (thus the big download), will suggest edges with optional edit, more options as to export format and compression

Cool thank you, I’ll check them out!

If I can take advantage of the question…

Any app that could easily add watermarks?
I tried some in the past but I was not satisfied… Purpose would be to watermark personal documents before sending them (several line of text, 30°, all over the document).

Thank you in advance

I mean this is basically the top3 for opensource tagged Apps in AppLounge

maybe the real topic of this thread is “f-droid search is bad” and “where’s ratings?”

If you are ok not going open source, I found vFlat to have the best quality back when I did a comparison of several commercial apps. If you don’t need cloud OCR, you can just turn off internet access for it completely using something like Tracker Control.

I have not included Adobe Scan in my comparison since it requires an account and forces all your documents into their cloud without end-to-end encryption.

You can also turn off network on Android side in the app-details

Thank you @tcecyk
I had tested the first two time ago, but I did not liked them … since I did not know the third I will test it and compare to the other 2 (although I am not sure if I should worry about its 2 antifeatures …)
