SD Card - Personal &/or Work Profile: how?

Hi dear community,

there is a microsd card in my Fairphone 4.
This sdcard is available in personal profile…only.
How do I get it available in work profile?

(see screenshot: with Total Commander from work profile I see this sdcard…but can’t open it from work profile)

…could not find proper help/support about this.

Thank you in advance for advice/ideas!

Wishing all a nice week!

Speculation: Perhaps you have set up the SD card as “phone storage” which means the card is tied to and can only be used (writing and reading) in this phone alone and no other device. This set up mode might treat the personal profile and the work profile like if these were two separate devices.

The other way to set up an SD card is as “portable storage” which allows to use the card in more than one device (but has other downsides, e.g. apps cannot be installed on the card and the card is not protected by the device PIN/pattern/fingerprint). While I have no experience with using a personal profile and a work profile myself, you might want to test if the portable storage setup solves your problem (note: changing the setup mode will erase all data on the card).

Thanks very much for your reply!

The SD card was not as “phone storage”.

Still, I formated (again) the SD card as “portable storage”, from work profile, eject and mount from work profile: the portable storage setup doesn’t solve my problem.

Still, thank you a lot!

Are there any other idea out there? Or explanations, suggestions?

plus one: have you tried another card? and does it behave the same way? Have You checked the card in a PC or else?
(I just experienced issues and strange behaviour of a SD-card. Formatting, unmounting, mounting and the like seemed to have worked but in the end I could only solve it with a new SD-card … so I think it is least worth a try)
