Security Update Fairphone

Hello everyone, I have a fairphone 5 murena in 2.4.1.

Fairphone says it provides security updates for several years.

Having bought expensive Murena how can I get the security updates provided by Fairphone? Or does E/OS group together during an update those provided by Fairphone?

I admit I don’t understand well, because under Murena I didn’t notice a tab allowing this.

Yes, there is a close co-operation between Fairphone and Murena, more specifically Murena will get firmware patches from Fairphone and weave those into their own /e/ updates. Security updates come from Google for both Fairphone OS and /e/OS.

In the sense that Android comes from Google, you mean?

Yes, exactly. Google maintains the Android platform that both Fairphone OS and /e/OS are based on. Fairphone adds Google apps and services on top of that to achieve Google certification, Murena does not and adds other apps, microG and the App Lounge instead.

Every new release contains the latest Android security patch provided by Google.
