Have any self-hosters using their own Nextcloud instances upgraded to 30 / Hub 9? Why? How’s it working with /e/ OS so far? Better/worse, anything breaking?
I use the official /e/OS build, which is still on v26.
I’m not adventurous enough to do anything but wait until the devs release an update.
I am on stable NextCloud since 2020 I believe.
I using NextCloud running directly on hardware since late 2022.
I am running e/OS since October 2023 and it works very well, much better then on Samsung stockware.
I would recommend sticking with stable release. Running some kind of server is already a cost and maintenance effort, I wouldn’t play with testing there.
I am running NextCloud on Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0, AMD Phenom II X6 1100T, 32GB 1600MHz PC3-12800E ECC DDR3 RAM. I do have real server, but
NextCloud doesn’t use enough resources to make sense to run on Dell PowerEdge R715, let alone R815
Server is too noisy and takes 4 maybe 5 times as much power on idle (fans can easily take 200W)
I restart Apache and mariadb daily, as I snapshot BTRFS and send-receive it on cold storage for backup. This saved me 3 times already.
