Update on what caused the issue ( response from the ecloud team)
We had a network outage on estor2 server for about 12’ and unfortunately it was the one running one critical metadata service. Even though it was transferred to another storage server, the clients (nextcloud, mail) that were seeing active writes faced a sort of lock state that prevented them from remounting the storage cleanly.
This is a known issue with CEPH and we don’t expect a short-term solution, but we think with some procedures in place the disruption we face could be much shorter than it was today.
