Setting the device registration

Hi There,

my freshly installed Pixel 8 is registered as a Pixel 2 with google. This leads to some apps not being installable, as the playstore deems my phone too old.

How can I set the device Id to Pixel 8? I changed the value in “System/micoG/Google device registration/Select Profile” from “Automatic:native” to “Real”, but that did not have the desired effect.

Is there a way to have microG not change the device?

Thanks in advance

Bernhard

Hi @bauerber pl can you share names of some of these apps which you were not able to install as Google Play Store deems the phone too old. We are working on fixing this issue and would like some details.

One example that comes to mind is the google camera app, it shows incompatibility with the spoofed pixel version, which is pixel 2 in my case.

Would you recall what was the error message that came up on the screen which mentioned the device was old.

There is no error message. It tries to start the install and just quits.
If i check in the google play store for which of my devices the camera app is availible, the Pixel 2 devices are greyed out and marked as incompatible.

Same exact issue for me. Pixel 8,shows as pixel 2 in app store so won’t let me install the pixel camera. Also have set it up for real and native as well as
Baueber tried

Also, same issue when I login I try to login to the store and he needs to verify me with 2 factor. It says it tries to send to Pixel 2,which never comes to new phone. So I have to send it to old phone still for approval .

I circumvented the Authentication Issue by adding an Authenticator to my Options. This way I can access my account without using a specific phone.
