since approximately 3 months i have been experiencing a quiet annoying bug in the Signal messenger app on my e OS.
The Problem:
Every caller who calls me via Signal, hears himself all the time which makes them confused and abort speaking and the call for obvious reasons.
Observation:
Other messenger apps and calls work fine.
When i mute the microphone in the signal call, the caller doesnt hear himself anymore.
Reinstalling the Signal app did not fix it.
I have not been able to find any fix within the signal app or the android system.
OK it the current version or at least what I have too.
When you make or receive calls, what speaker are you using the ear one or the speaker of the device. Try signal both ways in case it’s just loud audio feeding back from speaker to mic. Just a guess but it will help you narrow down the issue.
So have you ever done a Signal backup? You should probably do one and uninstall Signal and then reinstall it. It’s worth a try.
A backup saves data to a file with a long paraphrase, make sure you take (and save) a screen shot or write it down correctly and save the data file on the phone.
To do a back up from Signal main screen hit the three dots upper right Settings>Chats>Chat backups> TURN ON> Choose folder. Pick a folder and then do the backup.
Have you tried a call with a Bluetooth earbud or wired earphone/mic? Just trying to see if it is a hardware issue. Normal voice calls on the phone are OK?
