Rest of family all use iPhones and we constantly send group messages to all. On my Ph-1 essential phone running /e/ beta and Signal or Qksms, all incoming MMS never download. I also cannot reply to all as an MMS but only as individual SMS. We are on AT&T but I also tried a Ting GSM sim and it still doesn’t work. I have tried with microG both on and off and it still does not work. Other than this everything else works great!
