Unsure what happened I have not changed any settings. But since 2 days, my apos are no updating properly nor I could install anything from the app lounge. I found out that as soon as I disable proton vpn. Everything is back to normal. But while vpn is on, it doesn’t work.
It had been working with VPN active since I switched to /e/os, is there something that changed recently?
FYI I don’t have any accounts signed into the micro g. It has been running on anonymous since the beginning.
That is unusual… Unsure if Google changed something or proton… (I went with proton and de googling myself right now… You know from gemeente to everything how long it takes before you could delete g account)… I basically flashed e/os on my older Sony phone and made it daily driver even though its battery sometimes dies 2-3 times a day… But in hope that I don’t use my FairPhone anymore… I haven’t touched fairphone for 4 days, but every other day I need something from it, then I change that account and setup an alias on that via protonpass (e.g. I hadn’t used marktplaats for long time, needed that earlier in the week so today I gotta recover password on that account and change that email address to a new alias and I am almost done… Maybe in a couple months, also cleaning up gmail and old files/backups/photos slowly)… If dont touch my fairphone for a month or two (some 2FAs are 6weeks) I will flash e/os on fairphone and repeat the process with my partner… Its painful… When you have to undo half your life and move data then you really understand how much we rely on these corps… But I am still thinking, I don’t have resources or skills to self host, just barely getting a custom domain to work on proton…)… I don’t know one day I’ll need to switch again from proton… what our digital lives have become… Can I go back to keeping geld/goldcoins under the rug… Lol…
I’m running /e/os 2.8 (official) on a FP4 and use ProtonVPN but I can’t reproduce the issue. App-downloads and updates via App Lounge work as expected. I just got an update for Signal a couple of minutes ago.
One comon “issue” I get when using App Lounge, especially when updating multiple apps by tapping “update all” is an error message saying the anonymous session expired but the download usually starts a couple of seconds later regardless.
If not already done, try clearing the cache and user data of App Lounge. Then maybe test with a couple of other servers provided by ProtonVPN.

Maybe it has nothing related with Proton.
In my case and my wife too, both on Fairphone 4 Stable, Applounge in anonymous mode doesn’t work at all (“Please refresh session” in bootloop).
This frequently occurs on /e/OS unfortunately. The workaround is to use Aurora Store instead.
You can then either install and update all your apps easily.
OK, so this morning. It has fixed itself… Both my main profile and work profile are getting updates. No issues. I changed nothing… Some updates did happen including of the app lounge itself from murena. Maybe that did it…
