Since upgrade to Android 15 Android Auto no longer works

My Fairphone 3 official had Android 13 (e/OS 3.7.2) and working android auto.
Since upgrade to Android 15 (e/OS 4.0) the smartphone do not connect to android auto, Only the Message appears “Android Open Automotive Protocol Keine installierten Apps für dieses USB-Zubehör…” My Gigaset GS290 with Android 15 (e/OS 4.1.1) and installed Apps according to How to setup Android Auto with /e/OS? ends also with the message above. Only on my Fairphone 4 with Android 14 (e/OS 4.1.1) Android auto still works.

I have found a solution for Android 15 Stock Rom

https://xdaforums.com/t/android-15-broke-android-auto.4701469

But there is no android auto under connection preferences in our custom rom (/e/OS)

I have same issue, connecting on USB on a Toyota yaris .

I have the same issue.

I got my new FP6 a few weeks back. It is on eos 4.1.1.

I see the same error when connecting to my car. App Lounge shows Android Auto as installed, but i can not see the App anywhere. The App list in the settings doesnt list the App.
I connected with adb and pm lists the gearhead package as installed.

So you all probably just have the app stub installed. You will want to use the Aurora store to manually install the real AA.

The app stubs you need for the other services you can find here GitHub - rik-shaw/aa-stubs: Android Auto stub apps for use with de-Googled ROMs · GitHub

I think the upgrader has replaced the app with android auto stub. App lounge can’t replace the stub nor delete it. I use Appmirror to replace the stub. After that App Lounge can update the app mirror version. Problem solved.

How did you do that?

Just download the AA apk from APK Mirror and install it? How did you remove the backed in stub? i tried with adb, but that doesn’t work…

I installed the apk mirror installer (via APP Lounge). With Apk mirror installer I installed the Android auto apk Bundle Form the apk mirror Website (v17.3). After that I delete the installer.
