Small smartphone / Big battery (with /e/os)

Hi Great Community,

I’ve sadly lost my Sony Xperia Z5 compact with /e/os running smoothly on it.
I really liked its long lasting battery (up to 3 days), and its compact size.

What other small mobile device to install /e/os on it?
Optimally:

  • /e/os has to install/run fine on it.
  • Budget should stay if possible < 200€ (Refurbished or second hand).
  • With long lasting battery, as well.
  • Height size around 150/155mm
  • (and if possible) with Jack audio

Thank you for your support!

Kind regards,

Nico

Sorry, i don’t see better device than your’s…

Hi

I would say a Pixel 4a.
No 5G but all you ask is ok.

Has no Jack but Pixel 5 has similar size as Pixel 4a. Just throwing it, for you to have more options.

I replaced my Z5 Compact with another Sony - XZ1 Compact (lilac). It has very similar form factor to Z5 Compact: SD card slot, audio jack. Full details:

I no longer run /e/OS on it - I moved to LineageOS for microG and then to IodéOS - but I belive there are unofficial builds of /e/OS for it. It’s a great phone .

I also have a Pixel 4a (sunfish) which is a bit bigger than the Sonys but has no SD card, and I believe is officially supported by /e/OS

Sony Xperia XZ1 compact seems a legit choice after the Z5 compact.
I will give it a try (and possibly report here) ; looking forward to it.
Thanks a lot everyone for your contributions!

For Google Pixel phones ; have there been some tests there are no “hardware tracking”?

A lot of people have been using Pixel phones with custom ROMs for a long time. If there were such a thing as “hardware tracking”, I think we would have heard of it by now.
