an unlocked bootloader is a pre-requite to modify the /boot or /recovery partition.

so you may try to restore the device from the bootloader :

Thank you very much Piero for your answer.
I tried many things from your link (with or without the option --slot=other). But each time I receive:
FAILED (remote: 'Fastboot command (flash:) is not allowed when locked')
(or with command set_active etc)

There is no adb sideload access neither.

What do you think ? It seems to me there is no way to change anything when it’s locked.

adb only works in normal mode or recovery mode

of course you have already tried to unlock ?

Yes I tried to unlock.
But before I tried to root the phone, when Murena e/os was started, “OEM unlock” in the developer options was desactivated…

I tried also fastboot boot ./twrp-3.7.0_11-0-redfin.img, response: “failed/locked”.

Hi @florenm … do you mind my asking … did you continue to read and follow links below the Acknowledge point on the “Factory Images for Nexus and Pixel Devices” page ?

So for instance I see linked

Flash with Android Flash Tool  |  Android Open Source Project contains this paragraph.

Flash devices unable to boot
If your device is unable to boot normally, you might not be able to flash your device using the previous instructions. Instead, you can try flashing with Fastboot.
To do this, you need to first boot your device into Fastboot mode by using a key combination:

  1. Determine the key combination for your device. For a table of Fastboot key combinations, see Fastboot key combinations.
  2. Turn the device off.
  3. Turn the device on and immediately hold down the key combination for your device (determined in step 1).
Once your device is in Fastboot mode, open flash.android.com and follow the earlier flashing instructions, ignoring the steps related to ADB.

Please don’t just jump in and follow the above, but fully read the Google lead up to this point! For instance there may be different advice for different devices and Android version.

You need to decide if you want to use Android Flash Tool, or straightforward fastboot with the “flash-all script” which you should find in your download. If you can read through the script before you start this may help.

There also exists https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/, I have not used it, again it will need full reading first.

The downside of both Google / Android tools is that they require a Google friendly browser like Chrome.

Hi Aibd,
Thank you.
Yes I read above, but I didn’t try with Chrome already.
Then I just did. It started well, but then it failed with “Device Unlock Disabled”.
So same problem I guess…

And Google Pixel Repair tool (Chrome too) needs the recovery mode, wich is broken too in my device.
