SOLUTION for Over years not happy with battery life

The solution for this

is: Complete fresh install.
I did one week ago: From /e/ V2.2 to FP4-TP2G-factory (just for an 1 hour) and then fresh /e/ V2.2.
I had 2 years only 30-40% of the battery time like before after an /e/ OTA update in July 2022.
Now again are 48h use easy possible… (no special tricks)
The reference for me: 100% charging to midnight. Sleep, phone on, but nothing to do
now in 8h 5-7% less capacity. Before 20-30%.
I am not sure about the FP-OS install: Necessary? Maybe for firmware, maybe not.
[I don’t think it was an app thing, see closed thread]
(I found my first complaining from Jul 31, 2022:
e/OS problems on FP4 - #6 by Olli_GT - Fairphone 4 - Fairphone Community Forum )

Fairphoneforum had similar experience:

A nice user told me, both Faiphone and /e/ provide Firmware updates (via OTA, too).

So the theory of missing firmware updates is wrong (Or it didn’t work correctly ?)

It looks like OTA updates are sometimes not “the real thing”.
Now I will wait after every new update a few weeks.
Yes, I know … But I have not the energy and time for this anymore.

Hi @Olli_GT,

Do you still have the /e/OS V2.2 somewhere available? I want to flash back to Android 12 (also big battery drain after the update to 13) but older builds are not available on the servers anymore. If not my best bet then is to directly flash back to Fairphone OS Android 12, but I am a bit afraid for Firmware compatible issues. I am now in the latest /e/OS stable build.

I don’t think so. I used the “e easy installer”. So it makes the download in the background.

But I don’t understand why you want exactly V2.2. I think for me (and others) was the solution the NEW FRESH Install, not “this version”.
I am now slowly with OTA updates. I can wait… But with an old version do a fresh install?
That is you version/Experience history?

maybe you can build of your own:
https://doc.e.foundation/support-topics/build-e
" If you want to build a test version, you can use:
** BRANCH_NAME set to v1-nougat, v1-oreo, v1-pie, v1-q, v1-r, v1-s, v1-t*
** REPO=https://gitlab.e.foundation/e/os/android.git"*

For clearing up:
I am now on V2.4.1 via OTA and battery life is OK.
Not famous, but OK
(I think my long time with the darin maked the battery faster old …)

Also interesting:

It seems somebody work for FP4 on that problem!
I don’t understand exactly was going on there but maybe someday FP4 will be a phone with with a battery life time that have a good compare to others with such a large battery…
