Sony Xperia Z5 Compact

Hi, I am a newbie.
I used LineageOs before.
I fetched the unofficial /e/ build of “unknown” from Jun 13.
Everything seemed to work fine except location.
Only Google services appear.
MircoG settings crash.
Does anybody know whether this is fixed now?
@Unknown: Would you please build one again from a new nightly build?
I would do it myself but I don’t have enough hard disk space.

Update: I fixed it myself. I reinstalled completely and I wiped completely with “advanced wipe”. After all location is fine, no more google services on the mobile. The /e/ appstore is getting better and better. As commented by others the camera is bad and WLAN breaks sometimes.
Thanks to the /e/ team and thanks to unknown.

Hi @ulionetouch I am gonna update this build for you after July 10, because of this https://t.me/mydataismydata/95.

Hi @Unknown,
a big thank you!
As I have it in everyday use I did not want to loose data (downloads of local maps) and configuration.
Therefore I flashed it yesterday without wiping.
Everything looks fine.
I will continue testing.

Hi @Unknown,
I tested your build for my z5c (suzuran) now for two month and it is great.
I tested a lot of functions except phoning.
What do you think, is the progress of /e/ since July big enough to test a new version of it?
If so, would you build me an new one?
That would be really kind.
Thank you in advance.

I have /e/ now on my suzuran (sony z5c) in a two month test.
I tested a lot of things except phoning.
Navigating with integrated Magic Earth works stable and fine.
Navigating with Osmand works fine.
Internet portals for service providers work.
I had hardly any crash.
As I don’t like Bliss I replaced it by Lawnchair.
Camera is OK. WLAN works OK.
I seems that Sony and /e/ work fine together.
I will continue testing.

I installed the last version 0.7-n-20190909-UNOFFICIAL-suzuran (Sony z5 compact), and it is running very smoothly.
Because I have already 2 other devices with /e/-OS, I run this one without using an /e/-Account in order see the difference
That means, I do not use /e/-App store, /e/-mail/calender/notes/, MagicEath, Bliss or any sync with /e/-nextcloud; instead I use the original K-9, Davx5, Lawnchair, Openstreet Map, Signal, F-Droid, Aurora, Blokada …
my current impression: very stable and low battery consumption

Hi Unknown,
thank you for your build.
All works fine on the suzuran.
I even think WLAN works better now. I didn’t have any drop outs or speed drops.

Hi @Unknown,
I tried to build on my own with the script you refer to
but the script stopped:

Do you have an idea?

i need more details, like what your build script, full logfile, are you build on your pc or server?

I build on a pc with Ubuntu 18.04.
I tried with and without docker.
I used the script you refer to on the community, the “easiest way”. I have enough space.
I replaced v1-nougat or v1-oreo and suzuran.
The first time without docker syncing worked until 20G. I had to stop it. Then I tried again and the error occurs.
Tomorrow I will upload the logfile.

suzuran only have nougat sources

sudo docker run \
-v "/srv/e/src:/srv/src:delegated" \
-v "/srv/e/zips:/srv/zips:delegated" \

Hi @Unknown,
I had no time for building suzuran on my own for some months.
Now as there are OTA updates for the supported phones I am interested in an update for suzuran again. But with my equipment it does not work. Perhaps because the main hd space is too small and I try to link to a mounted device. I don’t have the time to continue testing.
So I would like to ask you @Unknown again to build me an update (newer than 0.7 of september).
I would be very glad if you could do that for me.
Thank you in advance.

Done, check androidfilehost.

Thanks! Your build works fine for the suzuran as usual.

Hi @Unknown, would you please create me a new update for suzuran?
Thanx in advance.

Hi @ulionetouch and @Unknown - I am also running /e/OS on a Sony Xperia Z5 compact! It’s running fine, and I would also love to upgrade the build for my phone if possible!
Looking forward to it!
Cheers, SOLUSfiddler

Hi @ulionetouch (and @Unknown)
Thanks for your efforts on building for the z5 Compact
I’m working up the courage to install /e/ on my phone, but I’m nervous about losing functionality. Both Camera and WLAN are mentioned earlier in the thread as problems. How are these working in the latest unofficial build?
Thanks again
Pete
