Stable won't install but dev will. Samsung S9

Using /e/OS Setup

I gave up on the Easy Installer, using Odin to install TWRP then flashing from there. Only trouble is that the latest Stable, the release I was hoping for, won’t install, (error 7), but the latest dev installs no problem. I haven’t tried an earlier stable - can’t see the point really.

Any ideas why ? (Both downloaded following the usual links).

To install manualy the stable /e/Oreo,
starting from android 10, you need to follow the official documentation

  • use twrp version 3.2 or 3.3
  • install no verity encrypt
  • install vendor image 2018
  • install /e/oreo

starting from android 10, you need to skip some steps in the official documentation

  • use twrp version 3.4 or 3.5
  • no need to install verity encrypt
  • no need to install vendor image 2018
  • install /e/Q
