Still can't accept calls on Redmit Note 8T (e 0.21)

Hi again.

After running /e for 6 weeks, most works fine.

Still no sync with the e-cloud possible, even under e 0.21.

Still I cannot accept calls. I have a black screen with the normal symbols in the topmost line, the rest is black. I cannot wake the phone up by no means. Nothing works.

I have installed “simple dialer”, but somehow that app doesn’t run, or else it doesn’t work, just like the default /e dialer.

Any ideas, PLEASE? Not being able to take incoming calls makes much of the use of a mobile phone obsolete.

I think it’s hard to fix when the problem is rare. I don’t have this on my Redmi Note 8T, for example. Yes and the Dialer replacement works.

Hi @Goldtop_57 Is your device a “willow” is this on the supported devices list?

Willow is an 8T, it’s on the list.

Do I have to do something to make the alternative dialer work, like, getting it to autostart somehow?

When you go to Settings > Apps and notifications > Show all apps

Do you see Simple Dialer?

Can you Open it from there?

Returning to Settings > Apps and notifications there is a Default apps section. Inside you should be able to replace Phone by Simple Dialer.

Thanks! I can open the app, but I cannot set it to default, because there only is the usual phone app to “chose” from.
