Synchronizing E Cloud on PC and Smartphone

Hi,

I’d like to come back to the synchronisation problems mentioned in this post.

Uploading works correctly. If I add a file or folder from my phone or a browser on a PC, the synchronisation works fine. The items added are found on all devices. Synchronisation can take time, sometimes up to 30 minutes, but it works.

However, if I delete a file or folder from a source, the deletion is not reflected in the other.

• If I delete from the phone, the deleted item remains accessible in the cloud (via a browser).
• If I delete from the cloud (via a browser), the deleted item remains accessible on the phone.

I’ve tried resynchronising eDrive as indicated in the following post but it doesn’t change anything:

I solved this a couple of times by: go to Settings/Apps (show system) stop eDrive, clear cache & data reboot phone, wait for at least 1/2h This way eDrive reset itself, rebuilds database from both phone storage and Murena Cloud.

I’ve read in several posts that eDrive doesn’t manage file deletion? Is this really the case? Do you have to install the Nextcloud application to do this and disable native /e/OS synchronisation?

By default, all files on the cloud would get synced on to any phone that is linked for the first time. Files and photos taken on the phone also get synced to the cloud folder. Will share your questions with the infra team who maintains the guide and have the guide detailed further.
