System Freeze / Audio problem during calls

Hello there.

I’m currently running 3.0.1 not rooted on CMF Phone 1 and still have the bug, that my phone occasionally freezes and needs a reboot (as reported before System Freezes->Reboot ). 3-4 times per week by now. I can’t pin it down to one App but when using Waterfox (switched recently) sometimes the application seems to slow down the device (poor performance). If I don’t reload the tab or go back to launcher for a short time, the application hangs and causes the system freeze. Also when taking a picture, sometimes I receive a system freeze and the picture is not stored. I’m using org.codeaurora.snapcam if that’s important. Can I trace this behaviour in some way to provide additional information?

Then, when I make a phone call, I cannot hear the other side as reported before by @Taurus No audio during phone calls - #9 by JanB . My Provider is telefonica, as it seemed to be related to the provider in his case. Weirdly when I receive calls, it works every time.

Do you have VoLTE (or 4G calling) enabled? And is the CMF Phone 1 certified for VoLTE on Telefonica?

Of course I got VoLTE enabled. I live in a region where 5G is better than 3/4G. That’s why I have it enabled.

I cannot find an official support list, just a List in a Board where the phone is not listed.

What I didn’t mention: I cannot hear the other side occasionaly as you already mentioned in your post. That’s what makes it not really debugable.

Just after I wrote the last post, I unlocked my Smartphone, made a Search for a person inside WhatsApp: Freeze!

Coincidence? I think not.

Could you check the following on your CMF phone, to validate if the phone is actually working over VoLTE (i.e. registered for IMS)?

“Call” *#*#4636#*#* - this will bring up a menu screen. In the upper right corner, a “…” dropdown menu can also be accessed; in there, choose → IMS status. If IMS status is “registered” (or similar), you’re actively using VoLTE. Otherwise, the phone has dropped off into a lower protocol, and not actually using VoLTE.

It is registered and VoLTE is Active.
