Hi! I just got my murena pixel, and started playing with it and installing apps. It’s simultaneously satisfying and scary to see the denied leaks pile up!
However, a number of apps have demanded that I install System Webview before they will install. Is that normal? I thought /e/os had it’s own version of webview…
can you give some app examples ?
It does. You can check at
Settings / Apps / Show all … apps / top right 3 dot menu / Show system / Android system webview.
OK, so the system apps definitely include webview, which is really confusing. I’ve removed most of them when they failed, but I still have the OKCupid app, and it says “On Android lollipop (5.0+), your device must have the Android System Webview app installed in order to use this app.” That’s really confusing, since I can see the app installed…
I attempted to install okcupid but was first told I had to sign in with my Google account.
As this is impossible for me the install terminated so I never saw the reported error.
