I’m not sure of this app can be used worldwide, this app “tango” is used i the Netherlands at unmanned gasstations. The app downloaded from the app lounge and is “nl.tango” version 1.12.7.1.
The app starts, I can enter credentials and push the login (inloggen) button. Directly after that the message “The Captcha is not correct. Try again.” Thing is, I don’t need to enter a captcha anywhere. A bug? No, I don’t think so. The same app in iPhone just requires a username/password and thats it.
Is this a MicroG thing? Or any other ideas if this can be fixed?
In my experience, when a captcha doesn’t display, it’s because I’m blocking Google connections of some sort, either system-wide or in a browser. (In your case, I would assume system-wide, as you’re inside an app.)
My guess is that the app uses some kind of google framework. No idea how this all works. The only thing I do know is that on my iPhone I don’t have a problem at all.
I just recall I have an older samsung telephone with android. Will do the same there. Will give the results back here later.
Ok. Just tried it n an older Android phone. It wasn’t a Samsung, but an old Ulephone S1 or something). The tango app installed and worked. I downloaded directly from the Play store (the older phone has no /e/OS).
Starting the app it is just userid/password and go. No captcha asked. Looks like the Captcha error is an /e/OS thing (for me).
Well I’ve sent an message to tango support. Don’t think they have an answer but who know.
In the mean time I saw an option in settings → MicroG settings → Hide from apps. The default setting is “automatic”. I see a complete list of apps installed here. I switched to manual and selected to tango app. Suddenly I can login into the app. I switched the setting back to automatic. In tango I did a logout and a login again. No problem
Question for now is, what is the meaning of this “Hide from apps” settings in MicroG?
