I reached out to Murena support asking if the Teracube 2e would get /e/OS support beyond Android 12. This is what I got:

I understand your concern about the device running on Android 12 and the need for security updates. As of now, updates to newer versions of Android for the Teracube 2e are planned and will be rolled out as they become available.
Our development team is working diligently to ensure these updates are compatible and stable for your device. We prioritize the security and satisfaction of our users, so rest assured that you will receive an update notification once the newer versions are ready for installation.
In the meantime, I recommend regularly checking the āSystemā > āUpdaterā section on your device for any available updates and applying them as they become available. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please donāt hesitate to reach out."
Thatās all I wanted to know: that theyāre working on it and that the updates are planned. So if you have a 2e, just hold on, the updates are coming.

You can also check the stable download page to see when it becomes available, it seems to show up there long before the āupdaterā on my phone sees it.
I really hope so. I donāt understand why this official Murena Phone with official support takes so long. Reason for me to buy directly from Murena Shop now exactly 3 years ago was the (false) promise to receive fast upgrades and long time security updates.
For now we have an obsolete A12 (S) version with no longer security updates; no confirmation too how long this stays this wayā¦
Why isnāt the Tercube Emerald (and the 2020 model) NOT in the list of offcial devices receiving upgrades?
The official Stock Rom from Teracube last year received A13 and since this march 2025 they have rolled out A14.
To say it the polite way: Iām a ālittle disappointedā in the way we Teracubers are receiving software support. Also no reaction from @Manoj on any question (Iām not the only one asking) on the forum about this subject. Just silence.
Only thanks to the topic starter whe now finally have some news and hope. I was already preparing things for the installation of the A14 rom from Teracube. This Emerald is my daily driver with banking apps and so on. Canāt wait much longerā¦
The devices which we sell or have sold on our shop are always on our list of candidates for OS upgrades. The only difference is that the official builds require a OTA OS upgrade. This is complicated development and requires a lot of time. We still have devices like released in 2016 on our list. The teracube devices have not been abandoned. We have just not reached a stage where we can announce the release of their upgraded builds.
On the question of me not answering the questions. I do get a lot of queries posted publicly and DMs every single day and may sometime miss out on some responses. It is not intentional.

As mentioned in other threads, the delay in the update to A13 is unfortunately causing some apps to stop working.
Could you please:
let us know what is the best place to look for update on that topic?
ask whether updating microG on the current A12-/e/OS-s could be checked to see whether this would at least solve the issue of non-working apps until we can switch to /e/OS T or U?
The updates and progress on these devices would be shared in the weekly reports.
For apps that do not work it is best to raise an issue in gitlab.

Hi, I havenāt heard back from the team, but I found the information myself.
My Teracube 2e Emerald Stable, purchased from Murena, unless Iām mistaken, has only had software updates, no security updates, since March 2025. Iām putting my smartphone away in a drawer, hoping for a fix and/or a quick upgrade.
wow, this is indeed extremely concerningā¦ @Manoj could you ask the dev team about how serious the potential consequences of this could be? (sorry, I know this is not your responsibility but you seem to be the only one we can ask)

Are they saying we should be prepared to wait 8 more years for the update to be made? I hope Iām misunderstanding since thatās clearly unrealistic. Iām not sure how else to take it though.
I have liked using murena for the most part, but this is becoming an issue. The Teracube 2e is on Android 15 now. Iām not sure I can even switch to Teracube OS since I bought it from murena with /e/OS installed. Iām wondering if continuing to wait for /e/OS to be updated is worth the risk/inconvenience though.
Would love to hear how anyone else is considering similar issues.

I did miss that and thatās a little bit encouraging. But as far as I can tell Teracube isnāt advancing past Android 12 in upcoming 3.2 update. I wouldnāt mind if I was wrong about that too.
