The screenrecorder app

Since January 2020 I have been using the GS290 from efoundation, now Murena. The screen recorder has never worked. The current version of the operating system /e/OS 3.0. 1 does not even have its own screen recorder anymore, the app is only for sound recordings. This week I wanted to make screen recordings again and so far I have only been able to get the app Xrecorder from InShot inc. working, but it is full of ads and I do not trust the app in terms of privacy.

Tried: Record You, does not work, ScreenCam from Fdroid, does not work. And this one does not work either: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digitalskies.screenrecorder

What do you use? Can anyone recommend something? Preferably ad-free and open source.

Screen recording has been built into Android since version 11 i think…
Swipe down the menu from the top, and hit “edit”. Search the list for ‘Screen recording’ (Schermopname in NL) and add it to the shortcut menu.

It took me a while to understand what you are saying, but then I found it and tried it. It’s nice of Android to offer this. But, I think the GS290 is an exception here, because almost all the screen recording apps don’t work, including this one. See image. (This video cannot be played)

My response was too fast, I probably hit play too soon, before everything was properly saved, probably, or something like that. After typing the previous response I tried again and the video did come. Thanks!
