Are there advantages to blocking trackers/ fingerprinters etc through the app settings such as in Firefox privacy settings or just let the Advanced Privacy app get on with it?

Browsers can do blocking based on URL path (or cosmetic hiding by css / html element path) - AP does DNS based blocking only.
So you can view the website on the same domain where telemetrics are sent off from. AP could only block the whole of it (thus, no reading the website).
