Tracking users with rogue Progressive Web Applications

https://blog.lukaszolejnik.com/tracking-users-with-rogue-progressive-web-applications/

Hi @VitTh that’s very interesting, thanks for sharing. I think PWAs are set up to use the engine of whichever is the default browser at the time of “install” (for those that are pinned to homescreen; I don’t know about those that are from the Play store). The cookies and privacy settings etc should then follow the settings of that default browser.
However, I could easily be wrong as I’m not an expert on this.
Cheers

Hello !
Since PWAs were announced on Apps V2 in latest newsletter,
https://e.foundation/leaving-apple-google-apps-installer-v2-galaxy-s8-e-os-08-apple-google-framework-on-eos/
I tried to look for more recent news on PWAs and tracking… I didn’t find more articles dealing with potential privacy breaches
Do you guys have some fresh news about this subject ?
