Troubleshooting Camera Problem - FP 4

Hello!

I have a Fairphone 4 running /e/ OS-Version 2.4.1-t-202410099439851-official-FP4

I’m not sure when it happened, so I cannot say if it was a software update. Somehow I think it was, but I cannot guarantee it.

Now I think I used the regular e-OS camera-App, and it showed me a switch button for regular angle and wide angle. Also I could use the front Camera for selfies. And I think I remember I could use the camera from Apps like Whatsapp and Signal.

Then something happened:
The button for switching regular/wide disappeared.
Switching to front-camera caused a crash
Signal / Whatsapp can’t access the camera (also no QR scanning with those apps)
Other QR-Scanner apps, seem to work.

Using opencamera allows me to access the front Camera.
Activating the built-in “Fairphone Camera” is possible but the app crashes immediately/can’t start.

Now I’m not sure if this is a hardware or software error (since opencamera can access the front-camera) and how to figure this out? #*#*2886 doesn’t seem to work.

If it is a hardware error, how can i narrow it down? (camera module or front camera?)

Same for me, with FP4. I was able to activate the selfie camera keeping pushed the dobulearrow icon, a menu opens to chose camera. But the problem is deeper: Io App (the app of italina public services) now crashes starting and watching the log it depends from camera.
Please, it’s important to have an answer because the usage of FP4 is very difficult with this issue. I tried restoring the phone to default setting but without any results.
