Hi,
I’ve recently resurrected my FP4 and successfully installed and locked /e/OS from my computer, so as far as I can see everything is working fine apart from adding a murena.io account.
I have a premium account which I access from a variety of different devices, and have successfully added the NextCloud app on my phone. However if I try using settings->accounts->add account → murena.io, once I’ve added the details and hit go, it tries to get the configuration then fails with ‘Couldn’t find CalDAV or CardDAV service’.
My account has 2FA and I have tried it using the account name, the email address, the account password and a newly configured app password and they all fail in the same way.
Any suggestions or is this an opportunity for future code enhancement?
many thanks,
Scott…
In my case I am not using the Fairphone but usually Google, or Moto phones. I have found in the past that I have had difficulty adding the Murena account unless the install was fresh or a full factory reset, after that using OTA all goes well.
In the past, you’d need full email and an app-password when 2FA is enabled.
Seems murena is currently back to a OIDC migration when I looked at it, unsure if that plays into your issue.
When entering just https://murena.io accountmanager/davx will fetch and follow a redirect to .well-known/carddav (and caldav) at that domain to do the setup. Was it a temporary error?
Hi @Jets ,
It wasn’t quite a fresh install - I’d installed /e/OS 2.5 on my phone a while back, put it to one side then updated it to 3.0.1 and had just got brave enough to try locking it afterwards to see if that would get certain apps working. That nuked all my existing settings (which makes sense) effectively resetting the phone to vanilla.
I didn’t connect to murena during installation as my password is a long collection of password manager gibberish and I didn’t want to type it in. I thought I’d leave murena until I’d got the password manager installed and working.
Apart from that, pretty much everything is working fine including using curve for contactless payments so I think the installation is good, there is just some confusion within it.
Many thanks,
Scott…
Hi @tcecyk ,
I have tried it with app passwords (existing and newly generated) and with and without specifying the server. The NextCloud app works fine and I have murena syncing perfectly against my desktop devices so I know the murena side is good.
It does seem a bit odd that it can’t find just carddav and caldav. I’ve just tried adding murena .io address book and that went in fine so I wonder if they haven’t removed that from the base murena.io account.
Many thanks,
Scott…
Hi everyone,
just as an update, I added a murena.io address book first which added the carddav and caldav accounts and worked fine. I then added my main murena.io account adding an app password and that has now gone straight in so happy days!
Thank you to everyone who has read this or responded.
many thanks,
Scott…
