Unable to configure custom DNS

Hi,

I try to configure custom DNS in the seetings for Network & internet. This is described in How to configure custom DNS on an Android device – Surfshark Customer Support . But when I edit the Network Settings/Advanced options the button ‘Save’ remains grey and inactive, even after having edited the DSN settings.
How can I edit and save the Network Settings/Advanced ? Why is it blocked to save them after having edited?

Thank you in advance
Jochen

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online servicesphone

Confirm the bug!
Save button activates only if input letters, such a strange behavior, DNS IP’s are numbers usually!

I can confirm for /e/OS 3.0.1-s and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935F

the SAVE button is active if you at least fill in the static ip address (having dhcp disabled). Mind the DNS entries can be overridden by private DNS (that uses the hostname for good reason - trust anchor) if enabled / on automatic

(I guess it could be made easier to use a non-private-DNS server globally that inside each networks settings, but then you can already go and use dns-over-tls / dns-over-https)

No, my SAVE button remains inactive:

I follewed that Shurfshark url before I opened that case.

(your interface) “IP-Adresse”, 1st entry still grey - fill it out.

It’s the criteria to get SAVE active for a static config - give the interface a static ip

(dns IPs are secondary to that)

As said, Android could do this better… haven’t seen a regular phone, there must be a global dns config that is non-private. Last I checked /e/OS hides that in favor of private dns

Got it! Sorry for misunderstanding. After having edited IP-Adress (although it seemed to me that it was filled) I could also edit DSNs and SAVE.
Great :+1:

Many thnx

both theme color difference or placeholder text don’t help to see this - as in, if it’d be prefixed with "example: ", users would notice
