i bought a fairphone 6 yesterday and wanted to switch to eOS before migrating my data. The Web installer did not work at all, i tried multiple times on different devices.
When i tried to install it manually, it said that the current security patch level of eOS for the FP6 is 2025-10-01 but i have security patch 2025-10-05 pre installed on my phone.
Am i correct in thinking, that there is then currently no way to safely install eOS?
If thats the Case, when can i roughly expect the update of eOS to the latest security patch?
/e/OS will install under these conditions but locking will involve a “rollback error” so you are at risk of causing harm.
The next version of /e/ (you can check development-updates for latest news) is 3.3 and forecast for publication end Nov / early, mid December with an Android SPL of November.
You could install but avoid locking at this time but probably the least trouble is to stay with your current Fairphone Android until you can see the November SPL in /e/OS builds.
I have also issues when i want to install eOS on my new FP6.
I have set USB-debugging mode and set USB tot Data transfer. I have unlocked the bootloader with the code from Fairphone.
When i use the Installer it will start downloading and i must wait a moment.
After finishing the download it will start to extract.
After that i van install eOS and te phone reboot in bootloader.
But then…Android will start again.
