I bought a fairphone 6 with Murena (e/OS) a few days ago. I think the version of e/OS was 3.1.4.
It was working well. I charged the battery during the night. The Fairphone was on when I plugged in the charger last night, and this morning it is off and impossible to turn back on. I pressed the power button and the power + volume up buttons for more than 10 seconds, but nothing works—I still can’t turn it on. As far as I know, there was no overheating or any other issue. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you have a solution to fix it?
Thank you for the advice. I imagine that opening the Fairphone will void the warranty. Do we have any explanation for this malfunction, which occurred less than a week after I started using it?
You can always open the case and take out the accu. Note: changing the accu (and other parts) is a use case the device is made for. This doesn’t affect any guarantee because this is not even to detect by anyone, as long as you don’t damage the backside.
(If you mean to reply to ME,) I do not know if zalamander’s video is available somewhere. I never watched the video. To me, the written instructions are so easy that I do not need the video.
Something similar happened to my FP6 a few time (2 or 3 times in 2 months): When I turn it on, fully charged, the back flash light comes on, but the device doesn’t boot at all. I have no explanation why this happens. I have to keep pressing the power button for 20 seconds, then the light goes out. Then I press and keep again the power button for 10 to 20s and the device boots normally…
I am also unable to turn on my fairphone 6 with /e/os. It was on ~65% charge, I put it on a charger (that it charged fine on before), it was right next to me for about 20 minutes, then I wanted to check something and saw that it’s off. Not overheated (not even warm), didn’t make any sounds, but it’s just dead.
What I tried:
holding the power button for 5, 10, 20 seconds
holding the power button and the volume up button for 5, 10, 20 seconds
taking the battery out and putting it back again
Absolutely nothing works, the phone is dead. I’ve only had it for a few weeks.
