Unihertz Jelly Pro

This little phone based in the MediaTek MT6735 cpu, is supported
currently in Nougat, and Oreo, the vendor offers stock roms from
their forum pages, apart from tools to flash it in case of brick. It would
be fantastic to see it ungoogled. More on it’s specs can be found
here:

As it’s a rare device, communities like XDA doesn’t put their fingers
on it, but the company actively develops it yet. Don’t hesitate to ask for
any additional information on it.

Thanks!

+1 i have one too! would be great if it could run /e/. Is there a LineageOS version for the jelly?

@Rik I don’t think so, see [1], though the port may not be far difficult as I’m sure
that cpu is used in other devices, the major difficulty is only adapting the UI to the little
screen.

Peaking on an app to see the hardware it lists the following:

CPU: MT6737T
ARCH: AArch64
ABI: arm64-v8a
cpuflags: fp asimd evtstrm aes pmull sha1 sha2 crc32
GPU: Mali-T720

Is there any recommended app to give a full report of the hw?

it’s a good device PR-wise also, anything that you do with this attracts international attention

I bricked it, and it loops when I turn it on, but I don’t know how to get it back.
It was my first flash test

edit: I raised it from the dead

+1! Very excited to see that some people are into having small privacy proof smartphones.
There is also the new Palm that could be a great option

Did everyone see the Kickstarter for the Jelly 2? I just ordered it  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jellyphone/jelly-2-worlds-smallest-android-10-4g-smartphone

waw, that looks great, cheap, little, more battery, nfc and fingerprint reader. Good option
for when the old one starts breaking down.

+1 for the Jelly 2
I would buy it if e or even lineage is going to support it.

perhaps we can also make a request for this with LineageOS, does anyone know how that works over there?

I now supported Jelly2 on Kickstarter and asked them in comments to publish the drivers and firmware so that the creation of custom roms would be possible. Lets see what they reply.
But at least we would need someone who knows how to build lineage.

Fantastic, thats good news

Indeed, good news. It looks the answer suggest it will be possible to tinker on the stock rom,
that may be giving good ground to figure out the original config, and blobs, and use it to build
lineage and /e/.

Thanks @Rik!

I got my Jelly 2 today, first impression is good.
Now we have to wait until they release the firmware.
@Rik got it too?
