In official docs it says that the community edition of e/OS cant be bootlocked after manual install. Isnt this a security issue?
Another troll… On and on about FP…
Not sure why @Jets would write thoose words.
Anyhow, an unlocked bootloader has security issue in the way that someone needs physical access to put malware or something on to it.
It has been fairly discussed on the forum, pops up couple times a year.
Thanks. I searched the forums beforehand but havent found anything.
So a locked BL would protect against physical access?
Would the only way for me to have a locked BL with e/OS be the pre-installed version?
you can simply install official Different Build Types
I read through your links, so one needs the official build type in order to lock the BL. On the link you provided it says under “Official”-Section:
These builds are currently only available on the Murena smartphones
Is the FP6 a Murena smartphone even though I bought it with Stock Android somewhere else? So can I safely flash the official version on such phone?
Yes
in 20 caracters
… Unfortunate wording can be read as
These builds only are currently available on the Murena smartphones and, on the basis that it is published,it is safe to install
