Unlocking Redmi Note 3 from Linux

Hi

The instructions for the Redmi Note 3 are somewhat out of date, they now want you to download a program to your PC and unlock the phone with that. No more begging and waiting.

However the program is only for Windows.

Anyone have any ideas what us Linux users can do?

Previously, there was an unofficial software MiUnlockTool that reproduced the functionality of MiFlashUnlock. Now it is part of XiaoMiTool V2 toolkit.
