I had forgotten as for the official version 2.8 of my pixel 5.
I also have the problem of the app lounge when I want to connect the anonymous mode for an app playstore.
Sometimes it doesn’t connect and sometimes it confuses F-droid opensource apps.
- I am disconnected from the anonymous account
- I select a fdroid app
- The system tells me ‘cannot show google app when only open source apps are allowed’.
Nothing important for me, but maybe for others

I’m new to this but I got e/2.8 installed on my old and trusted T585 (gtaxllte). And absolutely loving it!
But now the AppLounge asks to be updated… I have to close it to do so.
Turns out to be a chicken-egg-problem. Any way to get my tablet in shape again?
BTW: the Notes app also wants update, Netflix wants modules,…

Thank you @ronnz98! Experienced some trouble installing via TWRP. I feel that the trouble was in the encryption of the data partition. After changing the filesystem to ext2 and back to ext4 I was able to install the 2.9 version. Running like a sunshine right now! Still, I would like to explore my trouble a bit more. Would Magisk be a handy tool for that? And just to be sure: there is no Murena-recovery for gtaxlwifi?
