:ok_hand:

the parental control in the settings leads to crash.
I think you left her for lack of space. I don’t use the child protection app, but wanted to have mentioned it.

but otherwise a super perfect e/os what you created. for me you are the best rom creator for e/os. :+1: :ok_hand: Thank you very much for the effort and time you sacrifice for e/os. :ok_hand:

here are some pictures of nothing phone1 with e/os.

Thanks for the feedback.
And yes I left the parental control as well as the Maps and PDF viewer out due to partition size issues.
So technically this would be then a custom build, not an unofficial build

yes it was at the 2.4. I have another map APP and how written child protection I do not need and PDF is also available in the APP lounge to download.

Wow this is amazing! I think I will go for an install! This is an unexpected surprise!

For instructions you added a link to XDA, but do i follow all those instructions except with another image file? Or are there other steps to take?

And is it possible to just do the same but with the 2.5 image?

Yes, instead of cr-Droid ROM use this ROM. And do NOT install Gapps!

hey @cosphi

Installation Short version

1 Your phone must be unlocked so it works.

2 you need vendor_Boot and Boot.img from the ZIP of e/os 2.5 you need to extract them from the payload.

  1. if you have the 3 files (vendor_Boot, Boot.img, e/os 2.5…) the flash process starts with fastboot (as in the instructions of crdroid).

4 the e/os 2.5… is installed via ADB sideload.

  1. naturally perform a factory reset for a clean installation.

after it starts e/os

happy flashing

Thanks!

I’m replying on my newly installed nothing phone running /e/os.

I’m really happy, but a little disappointed about the nothing apps not running on /e/, I was really hoping to use the nothing-glyph-ringtones.

But it is really awesometo finally have a phone I’m truly happy with!

Luckily I generated some backgrounds using the Nothing Wallpaper Generator, and finally landed on Lawnchair so I could edit my screen into this:

I am very happy!

Hi Hase,
may be, I’m too silly, but I’m not able to extract vendor_boot nor boot.img. Where can I get them?
Thanks for your work
Marte

Hi @Marte, welcome to this Forum.

[Walkthrough] Extract eRecovery and boot images using payload-dumper-go

Also @cosphi this also ask to your question

Hi,
one question, that is in my mind since I got my first smartphone. Why are the default apps undeleteable? I never use the default music, maps, E-Mail, PDF, calender, … apps, even the launcher I change very quickly (I’m a fan of good old launcher3).
I would enjoy a really minimalistic /e/OS without unnecessary apps, that could not install later in my choice.
Regards
Marte

Hi @Marte

to get the vendor_boot and boot. img you need to unpack the e/os 2.5… in it is the payload.

simply search for payload extract or unpack.

i’m sure you can do it like everyone else.

Ronnz98, the op, mentiins the xda forum website, where i got those two files. I hope they too contain nothing google, I wouldn’t know how to get those files from the e os zipfile (although i can absolutely think of a way where to start).

You can try this:

Installation

  • Unlock the bootloader if you still haven’t done that (there’s really easy guides on XDA)

Connect your phone to the pc and, after moving into the folder where you downloaded the files:

  • Reboot into bootloader:

adb reboot bootloader

  • Once inside bootloader, type:

fastboot flash boot boot.img fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img

  • From fastboot, select “Recovery Mode” with volume buttons and press power button once to reboot into recovery

  • Once in recovery, format data and then:

  • Select “Install/Apply Update” and then “ADB Sideload”

  • Sideload the build by typing:

adb sideload <name of the zip file (without brackets)>

TIP: instead of typing the name of the zip file, you can also just drag and drop the file on top of the command prompt window after having typed "adb sideload ".

  • Reboot to system
