Haven’t tested this yet, but so very grateful that someone bothered to do some modern cfw for the Samsung galaxy 2014 LTE edition -so many for the nawifi (or something!)
Just haven’t the know-how to create a build myself

Just wondering what version of gapps I would need for this release. I seem to remember reading that you didn’t install the ROM and gapps in the same twerp session
Thanks

Hey,

somehow the hotspot function doesn’t work with this build (which is essential to me).
Can you maybe share your build script so that I would be able to try building the latest version myself?

I would appreciate if we could create a community driven build of /e/ for the lt03lte device.
A good start would probably be an open github / gitlab project,

Thanks and
Regards

Hello guys, I haven’t used my tablet for a while and now I discovered that many apps like YouTube etc. won’t work due to outdated software, Samsung has discontinued support and now am looking for a step by step guide to upgrade or replace operating system on my Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) with the hope to salvage the device to an acceptable level.
I have searched everywhere but couldn’t find anything. Unfortunately I am not savvy.
Apologies if that has been already posted/ requested.
Thank you for your time!

Hey everyone,

I’m really excited to see some progress on getting a modern custom firmware (cfw) for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE edition! It’s been a while, and I’ve been hoping for updates like this. Kudos to the folks who’ve been working on it.

I checked out the device info on the LineageOS wiki, and it’s awesome to see that there’s a ROM available on Android File Host. I’ve been looking for ways to breathe new life into my old device, and this might just be the answer.

As for the untested build, I totally get the caution there. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking to try something like this, but sometimes the risk is worth the reward. If anyone takes the plunge and tries it out, please do share your experiences.

To the author, thanks for sharing the links! My advice would be to read through the comments or any forums related to this ROM to see if others have tried it and how it’s been working for them. And if you’re not comfortable with the process, maybe find a tech-savvy friend to help you out.

I’m going to try this software right now and try to figure out all the details. I see that some people here have questions, I have many years of experience in development, including mobile development (I even worked for Andersen for a couple of years), so I know a lot about it. Contact me in any way you can and we can think about a solution together. I’m always happy to make new acquaintances

Latest Nougat build

https://sourceforge.net/projects/eosbuildsronnz98/files/SamsungSmartphones/e-0.21-n-20240411-UNOFFICIAL-lt03lte.zip/download
e-0.21-n-20240411-UNOFFICIAL-lt03lte.zip

unfortuneately, your e-1.17.1-q-20240418-UNOFFICIAL-lt03lte gets stuck in a bootloop: after a very long time booting, e reboots to recovery. i tried many times, with different recoveries, and other ROMs for e and LOS are running fine.

the nougat build e-0.21-n-20240411-UNOFFICIAL-lt03lte.zip installs, but is buggy.

@ronnz98 - any chance you could build and upload a newer version of e for the lt03te? would be greatly appreciated!

Does this one boot? I used a newer kernel:

e-1.17-q-20250320-UNOFFICIAL-lt03lte.zip

I tried also for /e/OS-Pie but got this error:

[ 99% 807/808] glob vendor/qcom/openso…rce/interfaces/wifi/supplicant/2.0/src
ninja: error: ā€˜/media/ronnz/eOS/Pie/out/target/common/obj/JAVA_LIBRARIES/androidx.window.extensions_intermediates/javalib.jar’, needed by ā€˜/media/ronnz/eOS/Pie/out/target/product/lt03lte/obj/APPS/Camera_intermediates/oat/arm/package.odex’, missing and no known rule to make it

thank you for your very quick response! i tried your newer kernel build, but no luck – it is stuck on boot process, showing the e-logo with the jumping dot only after flashing in twrp and rebooting. i can see the device with ā€œadb devicesā€, though, and initiate reboot with ā€œadb reboot recoveryā€.

Unofficial LineageOS 17.1 by davidmueller13 runs fine, just tested: https://xdaforums.com/t/rom-sm-p605-10-0-unofficial-lineageos-17-1-for-lt03lte-20-03-2021-beta.4046055/

unfortuneately I couldnt find any decent microG LOS build for that device and /e/ doesnt boot. :frowning:

Make your own LineageOS with MicroG!

Prerequisite: LineageOS 17.1 CORE, which means LOS without OGApps.

If LOS 17.1 build isn’t signature spoofing capable, patch LOS 17.1 build (services.jar ~ classes.dex) and then install MinMicroG-Minimal or MinMicroG-NoGoolag or MinMicroG-Standard.

 LineageOS 17.1 for microG is ready for use.

@Xxpsilon: are you suggesting I flash a minmicrog zip through TWRP in order to add microG capabilities to the installed LOS 17.1? https://xdaforums.com/t/how-to-install-microg-without-magisk-only-twrp.4628147/ i’ve never tried this, looks promising. will check it out, thank you!

LOS 17.1 is Android 10. It would be preferable to use a more recent Android/LOS build.
@ronnz98: is there anything I can do to help fixing the bug and creating a working E build?

@ardarandir
Yes via TWRP > Install > MinMicroG*.zip or adb sideload MinMicroG*.zip

Be aware: MicroG only works if your LOS ROM supports signature spoofing!

ok thanks, and for the signature spoofing it seems like this NanoDroid could help me. they say it can also be flashed in recovery and can take care of signature spoofing on deodexed devices.
https://xdaforums.com/t/index-how-to-get-signature-spoofing-support.3557047/#post-71042083

as far as I know, LOS 17.1 (without microG) does not support signature spoofing by default.

so it seems i got to do:

  1. make sure device is deodexed (services.jar - see here)
  2. make sure signature spoofing is supported (nanodroid)
  3. flash minmicrog.zip (from here)
  4. check all the tick boxes in microg settings
  5. enjoy degoogled lt03lte with microG4LOS

more info here and here.

i will sit down one of the next days and try it. without microG, many apps are not working properly. it is a shame how our devices are made to funnel our data to a hungry giant US corporation.

@ardarandir I can see from your explanation that you understand what you have to do. That makes everything easier. Good luck!

follow up: device was already deodexed but didt support signature spoofing, so i flashed

  1. nanodroid-patcher for signature spoofing
  2. MinMicroG-NoGoolag for microG functionality

dirty flashing on an almost clean install of lineageos 17.1 worked like a charm. all microG functionality available and much (!) better GPS fix. took me about an hour. thanks for the advice!
