Hi there
What’s the difference between your build and the build lineage-14.1-20191013-UNOFFICIAL-d2tmo
If someone should test your build, it would be nice to get some details regarding the updates to earlier T999 custom roms…
E.g. based on lineage os, cm…
Thanks and best regards

Hi piero
Thanks for the warm welcome!
I’ve just read through https://doc.e.foundation/what-s-e
Great stuff, you are doing!
Apart from de-googling … I would nevertheless like to know, what’s the code difference compared to thed2tmo build from 2019-10-13.
I have refered to the e custom rom here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/info-faq-galaxy-s3-w-lte-sgh-t999l-sgh-t999n.2370981/post-85581573

14.1-20191013-UNOFFICIAL-d2tmo
and
e-0.7-n-20191014-UNOFFICIAL-d2tmo
date are quite the same

e-0.9-n-20200715-UNOFFICIAL-d2tmo
has an updated android security patch

All are using the same LOS sources, ( except /e/OS particularities )

But one have to check if device tree are the same…

Here is the manifest used for building e-0.9-n-20200715-UNOFFICIAL-d2tmo

e-0.18 may have to be build within “minimal default app list” due to /system size (without G.P.S.app)

now I have installed (fresh install!) e-0.9; one minor bug: even if I select MTP for USB connection, the internal storage would not be visible in Windows explorer (like in the Original d2tmo from October a switch from mtp to ptp solves the problem temporarily (the problem does not exist in lineage-14.1-20190507-UNOFFICIAL-d2tmo).
However - which is much more important to me - gps does not work at all allthough I have replaced the original (north-american) gps.conf by the proper gps.conf for Switzerland (I hope, it’s the proper…).

G.P.S. “Magic Earth” have to be updated within “Aurora Store” (from “F-Droid”) as it is the only non open-source app (but privacy-respectful) of the distribution.

There are four possible Aurora apps I could install

  1. Aurora Store
  2. Aurora Store Apps
  3. Aurora Store SHOPAGE
  4. Aurora Store Mobil…
There might have been a missunderstanding: I would install apps via f-droid or apkpure (The S3 T999Lis supposed to become a gps-mobile with locus maps and brouter only. The brouter apk I would download directly from the brouter page.
I have selected No 1) and I have installed gps test from chartcross via aurorastore, but the S3 doesn’t see any signal (which does see my S3 mini 8190 with omini rom 5.1.1). The method is built in gps only (other settings have caused problems with Lineage I think)…

Strange to see such refererences to gogol servers on a /e/phone

it’s a left over from lineage os mit gapps. Which replacement should I set?
Here the google server is set (?):

Actually, it’s a AGPS Server, the present location is sent too. So it shouldn’t interfere, I think. I haven’t found an profound explanation of the gps.conf but in German:www.pocketpc.ch/htc-hd2-android/131559-gps-conf-kurz-erklaert.html

Another explanation in English:
