I’m still on stock, but as we have no updates for a long time, I would prefer to switch to a eOS.
However, I want to confirm about the exact Model Name of the device you own and got eOS running.
Mine is the SM-T970 (I bought this in South Korea and I know that they often have a slightly different models than the international one.)
Can you confirm that your builds are for the Model name SM-T970?
I flashed 3.5 but “Setup Wizard keeps stopping” I can only force quit.
There is no way past it and so the device is not usable.
Which version of eOS did you install and run successfully?
I run 3.5 on my gts7xl without issues, but did update from previous version. Hmm, you might try an older version or install EvolutionX version first and then /e/OS
I updated from 3.2 directly to 3.5 using the eOS Recovery update function and adb sideload.
It went well and my previously created setup works. So far I have not run into any serious bugs.
However, there are 2 minor bugs/quircks remaining:
creating a new user brings me back to the Setup Wizard crash I described above.
If I create a new new user profile and launch it the Setup Wizard will immediatly crash and the user account can not be setup.
=> Conclusion the eOS 3.5 build (at least for this device) has a bug crashing the setup wizard immediatly at launch.
When attempting to use the fingerprint sensor in landscape mode, the software does not hint at the correct location of the sensor but at the center of the screen. So we have to either guess the location or briefly change to portrait.
