Clean install of …

:white_check_mark: e-2.7-u-20250116-UNOFFICIAL-mido :crown: signed dev-keys :crown: by @ronnz98

Clean stall procedure via TWRP “Install” uncomplicated; e-System starts properly and can be set up. WLAN / Wi-Fi is recognized immediately and works. Further tests later…

Short note: My previously unknown issue occurs in connection with the e-Browser v131.0.6778.140

e-Browser

When entering the characters . (= dot), e.g. e.foundation or slash (“/” ) in the URL search field, the entire content in the search field is deleted. This means that e.foundation cannot be typed in completely and the URL cannot be called up. The alternatively installed FOSS Browers from the F-Droid Store, on the other hand, does not have this problem and works perfectly.

So nice, thank you @ronnz98 !

Yes, it’s working fine. It’s mandatory to work with the latest Twrp or OFox recoverys to make it happen. Earlier recovery’s will fail I assume…

Also no .dot or /slash problems with the e.browser here…

Thanks a lot…

Btw @Xxpsilon and @Pete1 don’t you have some troubles with GPS location ? no fix ?

No, GPS is running fine including GPS fix…

PS: How do you tested it? I often use FOSS App ‘GPSTest’ or ‘GPS Cockpit’…

I used Statsat and GPSTest from Fdroid.
Will try your recommandations, thanks !

Edit: same, it ‘sees’ some sats but not able to ‘fix’ its position. Any advice ?

You can try GPS Cockpit… I think, it’s more precise in recognizing all sat’s and fix them more quickly than GPSTest do…

If this does not work, my only tipp would be, going back to latest stock rom version to make sure, that u’re using latest firmware versions for the mido…

PS: But don’t forget about the switch in ‘miflash tool’ to leave the bootloader open before reflashing…

Good luck

Thanks @Pete1, already did all your reco: back to n and n-1 original firmware: I was able to get imei back, wifi and bluetooth mac adress too but no luck with gps.

Were able and OK to send me your qcn file, I promise to not mess with your imei (as I saved mine and already injected it in a ‘clean’ qcn) ?

If your imei, wifi and mac addresses get lost when you go back to miui Stock, than something went really wrong with ure hardware, i think :-))

PS: I do not know much about QCN backup and restore. Maybe because I never lost the physical hardware addresses while flash back to stock or similar. Also, I think it is not the best idea to share these infos with someone I don’t know.

But may be you can find more info about Note 4x QCN here > All Xiaomi Phone QCN Backup Files – Xiaomi Tools

Beside that I think that the GPS system have nothing to do with QCN. Maybe there is a problem with your gps.conf file?

Greet’s

Sure @Pete1 you’re right, understood.
I get a qcn from xiaomitools but it’s from a mido 201604 model, mine is 2016102.

Here is its trip: stock FW → Lineage → postmarketOS → /e/
Perhaps postmarket erased something … @piero is it possible ?

Where did you install postmarketOS ?
/system ? /data ? /external_sd ?

not /external-sd but i don’t remember /system or /data.
Any clue ?

If Reinstalling stock software without relocking the bootloader is possible, it could be a way…

Sure it’s possible, but I already did it twice or more before /e.

And after PostmarketOS ?

Yes after postmarketOS
