It works fine, it seems.
I used official e/os/ recovery, version “recovery-e-1.21-r” (the newest one wouldn’t load) and install the rom via sideload.
Wifi, SIM, location, keyboard, usb connection works. I will test more.
A little update - everything works fine except for one little annoying thing: when you press power button to wake up a phone, it isn’t instantaneously but it takes some time (sometime it’s just a few seconds but sometimes it’s longer like 10-15 seconds).
I didn’t find a way to disable it, maybe someone will know.
So, in the end I installed official version of e/os/ for whyred from here (it’s A11):

Update 2 - the same display problem happened on official rom and it’s a very easy fix - just turn off “prevent accidental wake-ups” in settings.
So I went back to @ronnz98 rom and sure enough. it works without any problems if you turn that feature off.
So I can recommend this rom after all, it looks like everything works fine.

Hello, i have a problem with camera is not work.
After fresh install I launch app camera and I have this message “Failed to open camera. Camera may be in use by another application ID:0”.
I have restart, force stop and clear data in this app and install other camera app and flash firmware.

Second problem in app lounge in mode anonymous is not OK, message error
And @sethdot it’s possible to share old recovery /e/os to test with this (the official link is broken)

I have the same problem with the camera “Failed to open camera. Camera may be in use by another application ID:0”. But i have also problem with flashlight and the audio and so on.
I’m searching for older versions of Whyred builds but i’m not able to find them: all the link are break.
I found this page Install /e/OS on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro - “whyred” but the link to download the rom shows “page not found”.
All is ok with with Lineage OS 21 for me too… but it doesn’t have microG library…

Thank you but unfortunately i found the same problem as in the previous version: camera, flashlight and audio don’t work.
I have tried and got the same shortcomings.
I have the same problem… Camera may be in use… also flashlight doesn’t work, audio doesn’t work (though alarms and other OS sounds work), error when anonymous in the App Lounge…
Did you find a solution that you could share? Or the recovery e/os? I can’t seem to find the link either.

Using recovery e-2.3-r-20250224-LEGACY-whyred.img and e-2.3-r-20250224-LEGACY-whyred.zip seems to work perfectly!
Unfortunately, using recovery e-2.3-r-20250224-LEGACY-whyred.img (or the ones provided in the .zips) and e-2.5-t-20241121-UNOFFICIAL-whyred.zip or e-2.7-t-20250121-UNOFFICIAL-whyred.zip doesn’t work for me (see above with camera, audio, flashlight, etc. issues).

Everything works so far except that the sound for medias does not work with the phone speakers (videos in browsers, music…). It works with bluetooth headset/speaker though. Sound for system works fine. After testing calls the microphone and speaker work fine in loud speaker mode but not in “normal” mode, which can be quite a problem for daily usage. Does anyone have this micro/speaker issue?

If I remember correctly, I had the same issue, but with one of the builds I mentioned in my previous post that didn’t work. Assuming you used the ones that I mentioned, I’m not sure what the issue it. For me the sound works, though, on calls it’s very quiet and usually I end up using speaker mode (only on calls thoughs, media works well). Hope you can get it to work!
