My Motorola family Moto G32, G42 and G52 is currently running CalyxOS along with Verified Boot | re-locked bootloader. A feature not to be underestimated. And the installation is a breeze compared to LineageOS, LineageOS-for-microG and /e/OS.
My installations with two attempts each with /e/OS and LineageOS-for-microG failed with the same error message in custom rom recoveries: Install completed with status 1 - Installation aborted.
The subsequent installation of CalyxOS 4.15.1 Build 05.12.2023 was successful at the first attempt - including re-locked bootloader.
Now the installation for the Moto G42 + G52 was successful with these CustomRoms: crDroid, LineageOS 20.0, LineageOS-for-microG and /e/OS-T by @ronnz98.
In the installation sequence, it is fundamentally important to install adb -d sideload copy-partitions-20220613-signed.zip to reboot into the recovery again.
Only then may the CustomROM be flashed per db -d sideload e-1.18-t-20231209-UNOFFICIAL-rhode.zip byronnz98.
The error was mine alone! A careless mistake, but with serious consequences. On the one hand, I had misinterpreted the error messages in the recoveries and on the other, I had only skimmed the LOS installation instructions because I assumed I knew how to do it anyway
I apologise to all readers for my mistake, but especially to @Ron.
I extracted the payload.bin files contained in @ronnz98’s ROM’s e-1.18-t-20231209-UNOFFICIAL-rhode.zip AND e-1.18-t-20231209-UNOFFICIAL-hawa.zip to get the necessary files for an initial installation aka clean flash:
The Motorola Moto G52 is one of the few devices that supports an analog FM radio (with RDS). The special feature of the Moto G52 is: Stereo sound even in landscape format.
Side note 1: Radio Data System (RDS) standardizes several types of information transmitted, including time, station identification and program information.
Side note 2: I have not yet been able to test whether wireless image transmission of screen content (Miracast) works.
