Motorola Moto series with Motorola Moto msm8916 chipset Motorola Moto E 2015 LTE (surnia) / Motorola Moto G 2015 (osprey) / Motorola Moto G3 Turbo (merlin) / Motorola Moto X Play (lux) and Motorola Moto G4 Play (harpia) for /e/OS-S 2.9
(Explanation: I was flagging a bunch of spam posts, and as I was about to click one to open it, this thread popped to the top of the list, causing me to open it instead.)
I tried the Osprey Rom. It boots into a black screen after the eOS logo. I installed using TWRP because the Lineage recovery image was not able to get into sideload mode. I tried both my Linux system and my Win 11 system.
The LOS link on the XDA forum actually works. I have also found an unofficial crdroid 8.2 by Chil360, which works out of the box https://chil360.github.io/. The only issue I have been having is MicroG implementation.
I used an external link (zoho, which is my email provider) because I don’t kno how to share logs on here. I can also provide you with a backup of my stock rom if that helps. Hoping to see it fixed and dandy with the latest MicroG.
Ps. do me a favor when rebuild this ROM: please eliminate the fluff or make them deletable. I don’t need the browser, maps, mail, camera, drive and a thousand customization. We need robust wifi, Volte, Bluetooth, MicroG and other basic hardware functions. If they work, we have won already.
Please work on the S builds. I have an old Moto G3 that I want to continue using. Several android 12 builds have worked so far, but none of them supported signature spoofing, so I was not able to use modern apps.
I don’t have an XDA account, nor am I involved in development work. I am into the business side of things. The friend I mentioned is helping me explore possibilities of starting an organization like E and Iode, just with a different aim.
