A couple of days ago I flashed millet3g (SM-T331) with this build and everything works fine for now. Its the first custom ROM I use for this tablet and huge upgrade, as the original ROM was based on Android 5. Device is not rooted (yet).
Many thanks for your effort!

you will see that the default “BlissLauncher” is not yet optimised for landscape mode,
if it is important for you, you can install “Open Launcher” any other one from “F-droid”

Thanks for your feedback, this is very helpful for other user that might want to use this custom ROM.

Please see update for /e/OS-R 1.18 if you want to update:

Updated millet3g from unofficial 1.16-r to 1.18-r, works fine so far. Seems to be a bit smoother now. Device is not rooted, TWRP is installed. Thank you

Would you please help me find a step-by-step method for what you did? I am finding lots of different ways of installing a custom ROM, but rarely one that is specifically supposed to work for the T331. I would not want to brick my device.
Thanks in advance.

hi @Whirr, welcome to this forum,

Samsung devices are nearly unbrickable

for an update, go direct to step (8) or (9 prefered) but DON’T WIPE OR FORMAT ANYTHING (no factory-reset)

It is important to be confident you have the right device codename. [HOWTO] Find device codename

From TWRP dedicated thread on XDA
https://xdaforums.com/t/recovery-3-7-0_9-unified-matisse-millet-rubenslte-twrp-recovery.4019831/

Downloads :

Installation :

  • Download version .tar when you haven’t a TWRP installed and you are coming from stock ROM and flash it via Odin in download mode. NOTE: Un-check Auto-reboot option in Odin, install tar file (it has to be placed in AP section) and after reboot manually in recovery mode with vol+, home and power buttons. This because otherwise you’ll come back to stock recovery.
  • Download version .img when you have a TWRP installed. Simply, from home, go in install → install image → select your .img file → press recovery as partition where you want to install it → swipe to flash → reboot system.
  • Download version .zip if you have an old TWRP. (you can install a .img or .zip file, as you want)

MY ADDITION :

  • Download version .img if you use Heimdall

Thanks for the help, guys. Yes, my version says T331, and that is one model that is not very common lately. But with your answers, I am going to give it a try. I am certain that I am going to have more questions along the way, and I will share my progress with you.

So, everywhere it says T331, in the device system settings, on a sticker that is on the back of the tablet. When checking with ADB according to your instructions, I get “millet3g”. Is that what I need to look for in my quest for a custom rom?

So you now confirmed for yourself that the ROM with millet3g in the filename is a match for your device.

[HOWTO] an Unified Install Guide Project for /e/

Merci Piero, I am getting there step by step.
Now I think I was able to install TWERP through Odin. I used the .tar, like in the description. I cannot get to the TWERP screen, though.
I want to use adb, and I have that running on my pc, too.
I also tried starting my tablet with “Home + Power + Volume Up”. I only get to the standard Android system recovery, not TWERP. Where did I go wrong?

Thank you all, I made it.

Anyone trying out this rom? I’ve been experimenting with the available roms and find this one sluggish compares to the lineage or crdroid offerings. They all run fairly well but this one seems slow?

Any thoughts?

Thanks
