I recently noticed an unusual delay while tracking the delivery of an important email through Google’s SMTP servers. After reviewing the email headers, it seems that the email experienced a significant delay of over 24 hours between two Google servers.

As you can see, there is a gap of over 24 hours between these two steps. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? It is happening very often to me: two-way communication to-from with google-based company as well as two-way communication to-from with private google users. Is this normal, or could there be something wrong with the Google server handling with regards to e.email parties?
Any advice or insight into what might be causing this delay would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there are any suggestions on how to prevent such delays in the future, I’d love to hear them.
